
Metaxata
Metaxata is a historic traditional village in South Kefalonia, located in the Leivatho area near the airport and Argostoli. The village is closely associated with Lord Byron, who lived here for around four months in 1823 before travelling to Messolonghi. A statue dedicated to the poet stands in the central square, close to the site of the house where he stayed. Metaxata offers villas, holiday accommodation and convenient access to popular beaches such as Avithos, Ai Helis and Agios Thomas
