Chavdata
Chavdata is one of the oldest and largest villages on the Paliki Peninsula in western Kefalonia, located near Lixouri. Built in an elevated position, it preserves the peaceful atmosphere and authentic rural character of the island’s countryside. An important landmark is the Church of the Holy Apostles, known for its carved wooden iconostasis. Chavdata offers convenient access to the Monastery of Kipouria, neighbouring Paliki villages and the beaches of western Kefalonia. It is an appealing destination for scenic walks, local routes and travellers wishing to discover a quieter, more traditional side of Kefalonia.
